Baby Quilts: 15 Original Designs for Every Nursery Decor

There are so many baby quilt patterns on the Internet to choose from nowadays. So if your stuck on deciding on a quilt pattern, its probably because your just spoiled for choice. Did you know the most common patterns for a baby quilt are trains the alphabet, ducks, planes and ships.

Creating a unique quilt for a girl or boy is so easy with baby quilt pattern kits, everything is precut which can take no time at all to make. These quilts are made from squares, laid out side by side then sewn together  creating the pattern of your quilt, its simple, easy and its great fun to do.

Being a traditional gift its a great present any time of the year.

For hundreds of years in America this has been so for many families. Getting ideas from children`s books thus started to appear as applique on baby`s quilts, especially in  the nineteenth century.

I`ll give you a little known fact, Jane Austen, who is world famous for her literature also made quilts, apparently she had a love of needlework.

What ever baby quilt patterns you have decided on, and no matter if your an aunt, grandmother, a mother or close friend of the family, there`s nothing better than to receive something handmade from the heart and with love. So its not surprising that baby quilts become heirlooms and cherished for years after, passed down from one generation to the next.
